1. How long will the contact lenses last?
This is probably the most commonly asked question and a definitive answer is hard to give. It all depends on the type of contact lenses you have, your doctors recommendations, how sensitive your eyes are, and the care the contact lenses are given. With proper care most extended wear frequent replacement or flexible wear contact lenses are capable of lasting many months before they wear out and start to bother you since they are reusable, but they should never be worn longer than recommended by your doctor. Disposable contact lenses on the other hand are supposed to be discarded after they are removed. They are for single use only and they are not reusable. They are not to be worn for more than a week.
2. Must I be examined before I order contact lenses?
Naturally it is best if you saw a doctor before ordering contact lenses to be sure you can wear them, to get proper instructions, and to receive follow up care. If you have a prescription that is more than 2 years old, you should probably be reexamined before ordering any more contact lenses. you should be reexamined as well If your prescription is less than 2 years old and you are starting to notice some changes in your vision .
3. Can I get contact lenses without a prescription?
Colored contact lenses come without a visual correction for those with good vision who just want to change their eye color. This does not mean we are suggesting you get contact lenses without being examined first to determine if you are a good candidate for contact lenses and to receive instructions and follow up care as needed.
4. Can I use my eyeglass prescription to order contact lenses?
Not really since the eyeglass prescription and contact lens specifications are not one and the same. You need to be evaluated and fitted for contact lenses and given instructions on how to take care of the contact lens as well otherwise you might wear them out prematurely. If you are currently only wearing glasses you should go back to your doctor and be fitted for contact lenses as well remembering to ask for a copy of your contact lens specifications.
5. Can I buy contact lenses if they are a different from what I wear now?
These thinner contact lenses come in one standardized size and curve and usually do not require any additional fitting. The size will have no affect on your visual correction, and because the size has little to do with the function of the contact lenses, most lcontact lenses only come in one size which is usually a median (8.6) base curve and 14.5 diameter.
6. How quickly will I receive the contact lenses?
Most suppliers try to stock the contact lenses They sell so they generally go out the same day they process the order which is usually within 1-2 business days. The postal service and 'UPS' usually takes around a week for delivery however overnight express is also available.
7. What guarantee comes with contact lenses?
Most suppliers only guarantee that the contact lenses will be free of defects when you receive them. They cannot guarantee the life of the contact lenses because that is strictly dependent upon the care they are given. Neither can they guarantee that you will like the way colored contacts look on your eyes. We recommend that you go to your local eye doctor and ask if you can try on some of their sample colored contact lenses. They get colored contact lenses FREE from the manufacturer for just this purpose. Naturally if you want their cooperation you don't want to indicate that you may buy the contact lenses somewhere else.
