How long will contact lenses last?
How long will contact lenses last?
This is probably the most commonly asked question and a definitive answer is hard to give. It all depends on the type of contact lens you have, your doctors recommendations, how sensitive your eyes are, and the care the contact lenses are given.
With proper care most extended wear frequent replacement or flexible wear contact lenses are capable of lasting many months before they wear out and start to bother you since they are reusable, but they should never be worn longer than recommended by your doctor.
Disposable contact lenses on the other hand are supposed to be discarded after they are removed. They are for single use only and they are not reusable. They are not to be worn for more than a week.
